Hockey: Qormi and Rabat share a draw

Final Score: Qormi HC 1 – 1 Rabat

Qormi have to wait a little longer to seal their title success after being held to a one-all draw by Rabat Depiro in a game played in relentless rain last weekend.

Early pressure by Qormi yielded two short corners but Rabat counter-attacked and went ahead in the 16th minute through a Charlò Antonelli effort.

Qormi made a strong reaction and dominated the rest of the half, forcing four short corners between the 26th and 31st minutes while Rabat relied on fast breakaways.

After the change of ends, the action took place mostly in midfield but after winning a short corner in the 46th minute, Qormi were awarded a penalty stroke in the 50th minute. Jonathan Borg converted to level matters.

The tempo of the game increased as Rabat valiantly trying to restore their lead, their pressure resulting in three short corners.

Both teams kept pushing for a winner but in the end, the draw was a fair result.
