Hibernians win derby to regain top spot

Final Score: Hibernians 2-0 Tarxien R

Hibernians produced a stunning second-half performance by beaten strugglers Tarxien Rainbows and go back on top of the standings.

Hibernians, who lost four of their last five games against their fierce rivals, now have sixteen points from 6 games as they only drop two points against Sliema Wanderers. The Polities continued to impress as they registered the fifth win.

Tarxien Rainbows stayed near the bottom end of the standings as they have four points joint ninth with Marsaxlokk and Hamrun Spartans. The Blues continued to disappoint as they suffered four defeats from six games.

Clayton Faillia and leading top Scores Santos Tarabai scored the all important goals. Just minutes after the first goal Tarien Rainbows had a great opportunity to equalised but Daniel Mariano Bueno effort from the penalty spot was saved by Hibernians vetran goalkeeper Mario Muscat.

Hibernians defenders Diego Balbinot and suspended Adrian Pulis was ruled out from today tie as also Tarxien defender Justin Grioli and Orsco Anonam was served one match ban.
