Hibernians vanquish Mosta 3-2 with brilliant finishing, Birkirkara set up easy 4-0 win over Melita

Hiberninas registered their first win of the season when they beaten Mosta in an entertainment encounter at the Hibernians Stadium.

Trailing 3-0 from the end of the first half , Mosta looked down and out of the encounter, 32 minutes from the end of the match Mosta came back in to life as Jonathan Bajada and Daniel Mitev set a hot contest minutes.

Hibernians this year under former Floriana mentor Michael Woods welcome back Zoran Levnaic after two years and latest signing Ribiero was on the bench. Close signing John Nwoba and Jason Lee was not including in the 18 men.

Mosta coach Steve D’Amato gave the full debut to no less then eight players Justin Haber, Fernandinho Apap, Luke Dimech, Steve Bezzina, Ryan Grech, Daniel Mitev, Carlos Campagnoli and Daniel BogdanoviC was given the nod.

First Half

3min: Justin Haber was the first on the call as he saved Jackson Lima free kick.

14min: Mosta treated for the first time as Firas Aboulezz won a ball in the half pitch and his powerful centre strike was stopped by Hibernians captain Marion Muscat.

18min: Hibernians came close again through Dias and Kristensen.

33min: Hibernians deservedly took the lead as Steve Pisani tapped in a fine move by Andrew Cohen.

38min: Minutes later Marcelo Dias doubled the score as he headed a perfect cross by Johan Bezzina.

40min: What a strike!!! Again Marcelo Dias scored, He passed Ferdinando Apap to strike a massive bullet to gave no chance to Justin Haber.

Second Half

59min: Jonathan Bajada reduced the gap for the Blues as his powerful drive was deflected by Rodolfo Soares.

78mim: Dniel Mitev put again Mosta in the game as he make it 3-2 from a direct free kick

Birkirkara set up easy 4-0 win over Melita

Birkirkara won 4-0 in forceful fashion to start the campaign on a positive note. Melita began their new life in the top flight with a heavy loss as Birkirkara taught them a harsh lesson in their first  match in the BOV Premier League. The Ametures was last at  the top flight 48 years ago.

Joselito opened the scoring from a free kick after Shola Shodiya was fouled from outside the penalty area.

Six minutes in the second half the Brazilian doubled the score as he get passed goalkeeper Karl Zahra. On the 65 minute Haruna Shola sealed the game as he slotted home from the penalty spot after Rudi Alhinho handled the ball inside the penalty area.

Substituted Jhonnattan made it 4-0 as he also dribbled past Zahra before put in an empty net. Melita goalkeeper Kieth Zahra made some impressive saves to kept the score line low.

35min: Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza low shot hit the woodwork.

Second Half

51min: Brazilian Joselito doubled the scored as he dribble pass Karl Zahra before putiing the ball in an empty net.

64min: Haruna slotted home from the penalty spot.

76min: Jhonnathan kake it 4-1 after he dribble past goalkeeper Zahra.
