Handball: Luxol stun La Selle

The first matches of the first round of the Men’s 1st Division were off to a flying start with keenly contested and highly entertaining matches. Current Champions, La Salle Rivareno have started this term poorly following an unexpected defeat against Luxol, and are looking to climb out of mid-table and back up in the standings. Aloysians Von Taine and Luxol are leading the standings by 3 points. In fifth and sixth place Sayitmalta HMS and Kavallieri RS2 have had a tough start this season and suffered two defeats despite showing bold displays during their matches. Both Luxol and Aloysians registered two wins out of two games. Swieqi Phoenix Menrad managed a hard fought win against Kavellieri. Following their accomplishments in the Super Cup and MHA Cup, La Salle were stunned by Luxol who breezed to a comfortable victory. Luxol (6pts), Aloysians (6pts), Swieqi (3 pts), La Salle (3pts), Kavallieri (0pts), and HMS (0pts).

In the Women’s 1st Division, current Champions, Aloysians Zmerc, have proved that they’re the team to beat after beating rivals La Salle Unique in their first round encounter. Kavallieri RS2 registered an impressive victory against Swieqi Phoenix. Luxol and Swieqi are still searching for their first points. Aloysians (6pts) are currently leading the standings, followed by La Salle (3pts), Kavallieri (3pts) and Swieqi and Luxol (0pts).
