Handball league gets underway

With the start of the ICT Solutions first division league, the defending handball league champions, La Salle BHS claimed their first three points against newly promoted SayitMalta HMS. With Hungarian player coach Krisztian Olshleger at helm,La Sallelook to defend their status and extend their unbeaten record.


Title challengers, Aloysians Von Taine, started the season with an impressive victory over Kavallieri RS2. Aloysians were close to taking the MHA Cup home but lost the decisive match.


Luxol started their campaign with a victory against Swieqi Phoenix Menrad.  This season, Swieqi are under the guidance of Danish coach Michael Christensen.


Malta Handball Association president, Mr Louis Borg, announced that, besides having weekly recorded handball games broadcast on Melita TV channel, Malta Stars,  the MHA together with Mr. Joseph Attard will update live scores of the ICT Solutions Men’s 1st Division League games on a live ticker website www.viewresults.com.mt .


Mr. Borg added that on Wednesday 20th November, a charity match will be played between the men’s national team and a selection of foreign players. The match starts at 10:00am at the University Sports Hall. Everyone is invited to attend this charity event in aid ofMalta community chest fund. Entrance is free of charge.
