Strugglers Hamrun Spartans turned their attention on former striker Dene Shields to fill the void left by Bulgarian veteran Nikolay Bozhov. The Bulgarian was released earlier last week after fail to adapt to Maltese lifestyle.

Scottisg striker Dene Shields 30, is currently playing with Gozitian side Xewkija Tigers but could leave the club in January as he inserted a clause in his contract.

Meanwhile bottom place Rabat Ajax signed Spanish striker Jose Luis Negrin from rivals Melita after he reached an agreement with the amateurs. The centre striker replaced the departed Nerjus Astrauskas who failed to impress the Magpies as he just netted two goals from 10 matches.

Jose Luis Negrin immediately became a Magpie hero as yesterday he scored the equaliser for Rabat Ajax in the 3-3 draw with Birkirkara.
