Hamrun organise Club’s presentation night

 The Dolmen Resort Hotel was the venue of the Hamrun Spartans FC Annual Presentation Night held recently and organised by the club’s three main committees – the Executive Committee, the Youth Nursery and the Supporter’s Club. The event was fully booked as over 400 persons attended the professionally organised ceremony.
 
Roderick Fenech won the main awards presented, the Best Player Award and the Best Under 23 Player Award. Other awards presented were those of Top Scorer (Marcelo Pereira), Most Dedicated Player Award (Gaetan Spiteri) and Special Career Award (Rupert Mangion).
 
It was also a night to remember for a number of nursery boys and girls who were awarded for their efforts throughout the year and were all given a token. Special awards were also given to players over the age of 16 as follows:
 
Over 16 Penalty Shoot-Out Winner: Jacob Rakban
Over 16 Penalty Shoot-Out Runner-Up: Lee James Agius
Under 17 Most Promising Player: Glenn Azzopardi
Under 17 Best Player: Honour shared between Ayrton Micallef and Daniel Zerafa
Under 19 Gatorade Performer: Lee James Agius
Women Best Player: Zuleika Azzopardi
Futsal Best Player: Michael Spiteri
Sparteen Award: Tarcen Debono
 
Nursery coaches were also presented with a token of appreciation for their service throughout the season. A big round of applause was reserved for Dragan Sejic, the former coach of First Team and Nursery goalkeepers, who passed away recently.

A special token of recognition was presented to former nursery secretary, Mr Mario De Battista, who was invited to the event. Mr De Battista was recognised for more than 12 years of service in the position of secretary after succeeding the nursery founder and former secretary, the late Tony Bajada.
 
Outgoing Club President Daniel Sullivan thanked all those present and the club and nursery main sponsors, namely Fresh Home Appliances, Powerade and Eurosports (club) and Papillon Caterers, Farsons plc, Global Air Travel, Firetech Limited, Sports Experience and Alfsons Enterprises Limited (nursery). He was certain that the club will continue to strengthen both financially and in terms of players with the help of all Hamrun supporters in the near future.
