Gzira United agree terms with Aaron Xuereb

Forgotten Hibernians defender Aaron Xuereb agreed personal terms to join first division side Gzira United. The 33 year old a former Floriana nursery product was surplus to requirement at Hibernians and was told to find a new club earlier this season.

The move came in light during the weekend as Gzira offloaded Brazilian Caio Suguino for discipline reasons and also released a Serbian defensive midfielder.

Xuereb, who capped the Maltese national team in seven occasions will start training with his new team mates from tonight. Gzira United are also keeping tabs in Hibernians striker John Nwoba.

Gzira United under the presidency of Charles Pace are currently near the bottom of the standings after a run of disappointing defeats.

Meanwhile Dingli Swallows are enduring tough moments as president Darren Micallef resign from his post.
