The national event which attracted over 10,000 car enthusiasts last year is set to return in May. This year’s Modifyit: The Ultimate Car Show is set to turn the MFCC Ta’ Qali into an automotive fun park for the entire family.

The Modifyit: Ultimate Car Show will unfold over five areas. The Live Action Arena will feature the event’s highlight – 16 time World record holder Terry Grant and the stunt man for Top Gear live series. Grant also holds the Guinness World record for driving on two wheels through the narrowest gap. Two-wheeled-driving is not Grant’s only record:

“This year, because it’s 2010, they’re listing the top record breakers of the decade. And I thought, I’ll have a little look and see if I’m on this list,” Grant says. “It said on the back of the book that I’m in the top 100. Anyway, I started trawling through and there’s a section at the beginning of the book and it shows the top 10. And to my amazement, I’m inside the top 10 of record breakers of the decade!

The Live Action arena will also feature the participation of local motorsport practitioners. Local Team Maximum Lock, featuring Mark Galea, Christian Bezzina, Clint Abela and Paul Deguara, will wave Malta’s flag riding award-winning cars like Nissan Skylines and Subaru Imprezas at a fast and furious velocity. Popular show team Triple Black will enter the ring with a Toyota Supra driven by Billy Nolan, a Toyota Soarer driven by Buttsy and a Toyota Chaser driven by Ken Moen.

The Indoor Exhibition Area will allow car, sound and speed enthusiasts to experience a 6500 m² area dedicated to Malta’s most esteemed modified and SPL cars, including last years Modifyit winning car. This area will also have various trade stands and nation-wide competitions, including body-styling, engine and interior modification competitions. Above all, it will also be the home of Malta’s exclusive DB drag racing sound competition

The four day festival held between 27 – 30 May is not just for car enthusiasts. The event will provide entertainment and fun for the entire family for a whole weekend with popular live local acts, an exhibition area, a children’s area and a food court all featured in The Entertainment area. You can also have your picture taken with the Live Action arena performers including Terry Grant and get their autographs in the Paddock area.

And finally, Camping sites will also be available in specific areas of the MFCC grounds.

The 10,000 people who have attended last year’s edition can expect to have their 5 human senses in full swing again: The feel of adrenaline and high speed, the sight of gravity defying stunts, the sound of revved engines, the smell of burnouts and of course the taste of a variety of mouth-watering food.

Tickets will be available from all Urban Jungle & Urban Culture Outlets, MFCC Ta’Qali and Handkrafts Valletta and starting from €5
