During the ASA Swimming Time Trials held on Saturday 19 February 2011 at the National Pool Tal-Qroqq, the male ASA National Swimming Team made up of Mark Sammut (backstroke) Andrea Agius (breaststroke), Neil Agius (butterfly) and Andrew Chetcuti (freestyle) obtained the right to participate in the next Small Nations Games being held in Liechtenstein next June after clocking 4.05.73 which is more than 4 seconds lower than the MOC qualifying standard for the 4 x100 medley men.

The time of 4.05.73 also meant that they set a new national record in the 4 x100 medley men as the previous timing was 4.07.21. The President of the ASA Joe Caruana Curran and National Coach Andy Colbourn expressed their satisfaction of this result which confirms the progress of the national swimming team. This is the first time that the ASA Male National Swimming Team qualified for the Small Nations Games. AGE-GROUP RECORDS Neil Muscat of Neptunes Swimming Club continued to improve on his own Age- Group B records: a. 200m free clocked 2.17.01 (previous time 2.17.19) b. 200m IM clocked 2.32.44 (previous time 2.35.92)
