This evening we will see the official opening ceremony of the 17th edition of the Games of Small States Of Europe, GSSE, which is organised for the 3rd time by San Marino.

Tuesday morning we will attend the first official competitions and the majority of the sport disciplines which are 12 in total.

Tomorrow morning, the first Maltese athletes will be in action in the Trap Shooting with Francis Pace and  Brian Galea at 10 o’clock. Then it will be tennis with Elaine Genovese, Francesca Curmi, Matthew Asciak and Omar Sudzuka playing their first single games.

Then it will be also Beach Volley tomorrow, the women (Dorianne Bonnici and Gertrude Zarb) who will play two games during the day against Iceland and Luxembourg. The Basketball women team will also be in action at 12.30 against Cyprus.

The Sport Complex is set for the competitions and the weather is nice.

We have been in contact with Franz Pace, the trap shooter, who is very happy to participate at these games. He said that after missing for 4 consecutive GSSE editions  (8 years) he is happy to return and he would like to make an official end of his career by possibly winning a medal to add at the four that he has already won in his sterling career so far.
