Gozo Motorcross Association organises FunRace

The Gozo Motorcross Association organised a FunRace at Ta’ Xħajma Track. Races started at 11 in the morning.

Friendly competitions took place today as riders took out their carnival costumes and enjoyed an afternoon of racing. Robert Spiteri was moved from Class A to Class B while Joseph Luke Gauci and Anthony Fenech were promoted from Class C to Class B. Category 125cc proved to be an interesting and challenging race as Steve Xuereb came in first followed by Etienne Bigeni and Robert Spiteri respectively.

In Class A, David Dimech returned on his Honda CRF 450cc. He came in second place while Etienne Bigeni, with the biggest amount of points won first place. Joseph Bigeni came in third place.

Robert Spiteri was challenged by Keith Bugeja and Godfrey Bigeni in Class B. The latter came in third place. With maximum points of the day, Spiteri championed this class followed by Bugeja.

Matthew Spiteri did very well on his Honda CR80cc, also winning class C with maximum points. Kurt Fenech came in second place followed closely by Raymond Caruana. Steve Cassar and Emma Xuereb also participated in this category.

Winners were awarded trophies and vouchers sponsored by Ravenol High Performance Lubricants from Galea General Services. Gozo Motocross Association  announces that the next event will be the the 5th Round of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship 2016/17. This activity will take place on Sunday 12th March 2017.
