Waterpolo champions Neptunes Emirates have confirmed their two foreigners for their forthcoming Championship in the form of Vladimir Gojkovic and Tamas Molnar.

The 30 year old Gojkovic won the World Championships with Serbia and Montenegro in 2005 and also clinched the gold medal in the European Championships with Montenegro in 2008.

The Balluta side have also reconfirmed the services of Hungarian Tamas Molnar after his successful season with the Reds in 2010. In the Summer League he came in second in the top scorer’s rankings with 51 goals, 10 goals behind Neptunes’ Stevie Camilleri.

Gojkovic and Molnar met as opponents in one of the semifinals of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, when Molnar’s Hungary went on to win that match and eventually the gold medal, while Gojkovic finished fourth with Montengro.

Earlier this year, Neptunes have also signed ex-Sliema and San Giljan player Edward Aquilina who is on loan from Sliema but with an option to sign for the Reds on a permanent basis once his loan term is over.

Looks like a good signing, although all depends on who Sliema will bring over this year. Last year the Neptunes foreigners were a cut above the rest and were a determining factor.
