Football: Ronnie Cocks Dies Aged 73 Years Old

The great football player of the Sliema Wanderers Ronnie Cocks dies aged 73. That’s the Gzira mayor Conrad Borg Manche that wrote it on Facebook.

Cocks, borned in Gzira on 1 August 1943, started his career with the team in his locality in the second division when he was a teenager. It was the start of a wonderful career that lasted 32 years.

During 13 seasons with Sliema Wanderers, Cocks won 3 league titles, 4 Independence Cups and 5 FA Trophies. During the 1965/1966 season, he won the title of Player of the Year.
