Hibernians crush Hamrun Spartans, Tarxien and Mqabba share the spoils

Hibernians regain second place with a 5-0 comfortable victory against Hamrun Spartans. Hibernians now have 41 points from 18 games and now are just four points behind leaders Valletta. Hamrun crises continue as now suffered their 11 defeat of the season.

Hibernians coach Mark Miller was without defenders Ryan Camilleri, Adrian Pulis and influence midfielder Andrew Cohen, while Hamrun coach Jesmond Zammit was without Gianluca Calabretta but he gave the debut to defender Ronnie Hartvig.

Hibernians scored two in the first half thanks to Edison Dos Santos and recent recruitment Jackson Lima. In the second half continue where they left in the first as Clayton Fallia double and Steve Pisani scored for the standing leading scores.

Tarxien and Mqabba share the spoils

Tarxien Rainbows and Mqabba share the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Hibernians Stadium.

The Rainbows stayed second from bottom with 14 points while Mqabba are joint eighth with Mosta on 17 points.

Tarxien opened the score threw Dutch striker Mayasi powerful striker gave no chance to goalkeeper Kris Callejja. Before the end of the first half John Paul Muscat scored for a direct corner.

Valletta missed the chance to extended the lead in the standings after they was held by Sliema Wanderers in a drab encounter.

Leaders Valletta now have 45 points from eighteen games, 6 points above Floriana and seven on Hinernians thee latter with a game in hand. The Blues now are joint fourth with Balzan Youths on 24 points.

Floriana earn a hard fought victory

High flyers Floriana moved temporally in second place after beaten strugglers Birkirara 1-0 thanks to Ivan Woods opportunist second half goal. The Greens now have 39 nine points from 18 games one ahead Hibernians, who will be in action tomorrow against Hamrun Spatans. Birkirkara stayed fifth with 26 points from 18 games one behind fourth place Balzan Youths.

Birkirkara coach Paul Zammit handle the debut to Dutch defender Regillio Nooitmeer but left back Joseph Zerafa was suspended after he was sent off in last week 3-2 defeat against Hamrun Spartans in the U*Bet F.A Trophy.

Mosta continued their late positive run after beaten mini crises Qormi in atigh encounter at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Mosta now have 17 points from 18 games while Qormi six place aspirations suffered an another blow as they stayed seventh with 23 points from 18 games.

Balzan registered their eighth victory of the season

Balzan Youths took an another important step to secure a six place berth as they beaten bottom place Marsaxokk in a one sided match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium Balzan Youths now have 27 points from 18 games while Marsaxlokk stayeb bottom with just 11 points.

Balzan coach Ivan Zammit was without defenders Jonathan Francica, Blejdou Guga, Bjorn Bondin but gave the debut to recently signing Jamie Pace.
