Former San Gwann and Vittoriosa Stars boss Joe Brincat has been appointed as Floriana’s new coach on a deal until June 2012.

Joe Brincat succeeds Michael Woods, who was forced to resign last Wednesday after just one year in charge.

His first game will be on Friday night against Balzan Youths.

Joe Brincat will guide tomorrow’s training session.
Floriana sacked Woods after last Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat against Birkirkara – the team’s third loss in last six games this season. Holders Floriana were also eliminated from the U*Bet FA Trophy

Brincat 42, became Floriana’s third coach in the past 20 months.

Woods was appointed in February 2011 after Raykov was also sacked under the Johan Said era.

Joe Brincat had been out of a job since the day when he was sacked by Vittoriosa Stars earlier this year.

News of Brincat’s appointment had been widely expected after he attended last Saturday’s games at the National Stadium.
