Three first half goals by Andrew Cohen and a brace by Jackson Lima Siquiera earmed Hibernians their win of the season at the National Stadium Ta Qali.

Hibernians now have 9 points from 3 games as now join Birkirkara on top the table. It was Melita second loss of the season.

Hibernians mentor Michael Woods made two changes from last week 4-2 victory against Qormi as Adrian Pulis and Ribiero replaced Johann Bezzina and Zoran Levniac. Michael Woods fielded an offensive 4-3-3 formation as Dias and Cohen supporting Ribiero. Youngster Steve Pisani was preferred on the left side of midfield while Jackson on the right.

Melita coach Martin Gregory also made two changes as George Gribbon and Simon Galea was replaced by Andrew Caruana Scicluna and Simon Galea. Luis Negrin was again preferred as the Amateurs main striker.

Last season runner up took the lead on the eight minute as Andrew Cohen hit his 100 league goal of his career when he slotted home Ryan Camilleri low cross.

Hibernians treated again by Ribiero as his header was saved by Karl Zahra.

Hibernias doubled the score when Jackson Lima chipped past Zahra for a deserved two goal lead inside the first 15 minutes.

Hibernians made sure of the points on the half an hour mark when the Brazilian Lima spectacularly lobbed the ball on Zahra from just inside the box.

In the second half Melita reduce the gap for some pride when Julian Galea low shot beaten Muscat for his first premier league of his career.
