There are still three Div I outfits boasting a 100% win record after three weeks of the MSV Life National League, and those are Fina, and current champions Ramis, all on 24 after full point victories against MIA, Gladiators and Turu’s Knights in their respective matches this week. HepO2 Acorn beat Royal Shock in a 2 – 6 score line, replacing the latter in fourth place, while there was also a welcome 2 – 6 victory for Bowlers on Strike, over St. James Hospital.

Fina still hold the top spot in spite of the points parity with the other top two teams, thanks to their superior pinfall after three matches. In fact their 100% victory against MIA provided the highest team series of the week at 2395 all told. Their opener was there best effort as they easily won it 688 – 845, before a closer second game which saw them double their advantage with a 676 – 727 score line. MIA are yet to garner a single point this season, and could do very little to combat the onslaught as they crashed out to a 0 – 8 whitewash,as Fina picked up game three 752 – 823. Danial Swift (Fina), 619, male bowler of the week. Steve Cassar (MIA),595. lie second after also having an easy time in their 8 – 0 thrashing of Gladiators, who are bottom of the standings with zero points. Game one was nothing to write home about, opening their account with a 737 – 638 win, and then going 4 – 0 up with a 748 – 713 game two win. The Gladiators were down and out, unable to put up a fight as game three rolled off, finishing 795 – 667 to complete the big victory for their opponents. Mauro Anastasi (, 606.

Ramis remain on track for a successful title defence, keeping pace with the pretenders to their crown with their own 8-pointer against Turu’s Knights in week three. The Knights weren’t too far off in the first of the series, losing it 725 – 755, but they stumbled to a 700 in game two, allowing their opponents to go four up with their 768 effort. Ramis were nothing if not consistent throughout, claiming the final game 690 – 756 to round off their convincing victory. Mark Spiteri (Ramis), 617. Tiziana Carannante (Turu’s Knights), 532.

Royal Shock had previously also shared the top spot after two consecutive 8 – 0 victories, but were knocked off their pedestal by a 2 – 6 defeat at the hands of HepO2 Acorn, who replace them in fourth place with this result. It was Royal Shock who got off to the better start on the night, opening with a fair 752 – 657 win for an early 2 – 0 lead. That wasn’t to last for long as HepO2 Acorn bounced back with a good 766 – 777 game two equalizer. Royal Shock still held an 84 pins advantage as the deciding third game commenced, but they were then architects of their own downfall, producing an abysmal 590 in game three, to a 702 match clincher for HepO2 Acorn. Sammy Borg (HepO2 Acorn), 582. David Fenech (Royal Shock), 509. Bowlers on Strike had only picked up two from sixteen in their previous two outings, and so their 2 – 6 victory against St. James Hospital in week three was a welcome result. They took the opener with an impressive 718 – 828 score line, but the tables were truly turned in game two which fell 748 – 643 to St. James.

The match was anybody’s as the much closer game three got underway, and Bowlers on Strike managed a 687 – 710 win, holding on to the series points by 28 pins for victory (2153 – 2181). Liliana Said (Bowlers on Strike),576. Ray Mifsud (St. James Hospital), 552.
