Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola quickly bounced back from their 5-1 drubbing against runaway leaders ASD Tennistavolo Norbello a fortnight ago when on Saturday evening they beat ACSD Sant’Espedito Napoli 5-3 in Castellana Grotte to make amends for the defeat they had suffered in the first round with the same scoreline.

Maltese international player Daniel Bajada, now ranked no. 256, got off to a great start beating no. 211 Mattia Galdieri 3-0. Boosted by such an emphatic win, Bajada went on to crush no. 855 Giovanni Illibato 3-0 as well until in his third and final match he succumbed to a superior Concetto Testiera, ranked no. 133, 3-0.

This fifth seasonal win puts ASD Fiaccola momentarily in third position prior to their next encounter on Saturday when they face APD Tauromenion Taormina away from home. In the first round Bajada’s side won 5-2.
