Fifth Autocross Race on Sunday

The Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) from Sunday to Sunday is always busy and engaged to cope with the number of planned events in the ASMK calendar program. The events are widespread throughout this season with four national championships including several special activities.

On the Sunday 10th February 2019 ASMK is to continue with the Autocross National Championship which will be the fifth event of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Championship. The event starts at 11 am and is to be held at the ASMK Sports Complex in Ta’ Qali.

In the Autocross Modified Class Championship’s general ranking Terence Azzopardi is leading on his Opel Corsa with 94 points, followed by Melo Zammit on Opel Corsa with 81 points and Noel Zammit on Fiat Punto with 78 points.

In the Standard Autocross Class Melvin Buttigieg on his Citroen AX is leading with 19 points followed by Nicovich Chircop on a Peugeot 106 and Johann Vella on the Opel Nova , both with 17 point each. Third place is occupied by Jerom Peplow on his Kia Avella with 13 points.

Meanwhile on Sunday 3rd February 2019, ASMK organized the fourth race of the Honda Motocross National Championship 2018/2019 where a total of 17 competitors were divided in three classes, one of which was set for riders Over 40 who competed in the Veteran Class.

On the day the track was in an optimum state for this kind of sport. Racing was fast and very attractive especially on the ramps section where the riders flew several meters high in the air.

In Class A Mark Mamo on his Yamaha registered his first win of the season followed by Kyle Camilleri on a KTM motorcycle and by Bernard Sammut on Beta racing motocycle.

In Class B Garry Debono on a KTM motorcycle won this class ahead of Daniel Caruana on a Honda motorcycle. Third place finished Krist Falzon on his Husqvarna motorcycle followed by Ryan Faenza on a Yamaha motorcycle.

In the Class for Veteran riders, Carmelo Borg won this class on his Honda motorcycle followed by Paul Deguara on a KTM motorcycle and Jethro Sant on Yamaha motorcycle.
