As expected, the class Premier final was the main attraction in yesterday’s programme and this race was contested by eight horses. It was Kain Poifond (Clifforty Calleja) the fastest horse after the official start of the race. This horse opened a length lead from Mica Bonero (Brian Hili) and Label Pont Vautier (Charles Debono). But with a lap to go, it was Kakisis which together with Play On Me (Julian Farrugia) started to increase their speed.

These two produced a keen tussle in the final metres with Kakisis obtaining its fourth win in a row and the fifth of the season. Lou Petiot (Michael Axisa) and Mica Bonero finished respectively in third and fourth pace. The winner clocked an average time of 1.16.7” per kilometre. Mr Johan Schembri, on behalf of Dragonara Casino presented the trophy to Johan Axisa. At the end of the race Johan Axisa commented that once again his horse confirmed that he is really in good form.

L’Alpha de Cosse (Julian Farrugia) sprinted well midway through the final straight of the Condition Race Final for class Gold trotters. This horse obtained its third win of the season from Lord Of Rush (Ludvic Ghigo), Lucky des Brisants (Christian Xerri) and Major Luchois (Brian Hili).

There was a close finish between not less than four horses in the Condition Race final for class Silver A trotters. The win was awarded to Neo de Mira (George Muscat) after that the photofinish was consulted.  Netter Williams (Redent Magro), Jet de Mee (Julian Farrugia) and Energy Launcher (Jonathan Zammit) finished respectively in second, third and fourth place.
