Great news reaches us from Kortrijk in Belgium where our Sport Malta Synchronized Swimming Junior team took part in an international competition ~ Belgium Flanders Cup 2016.  Participant countries included Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Belarus, Belgium, Malta, Canada and Kazakhstan. The Maltese girls performed spectacular routines which helped them end up on the podium and winning the silver medal. The synchro under 13 team consisted of Kristina Camenzuli, Hayley Camilleri, Neeve Cauchi, Ana Culic, Maya Galea, Thea Grima Buttigieg, Vanessa Mairangas, Victoria Pace, Hanna Rizzo and  Charlotte Spencer.

In the solo competitions, Vanessa Mariangas and Charlotte Spencer had very good placings and in the duet competition Christina Camenzuli, Thea Grima Buttigieg and Hanna Rizzo placed 6th out of a total of 14 participants. Well done to the Head Coach Szilvia Faraga as well as the other  coaches assisting; Saho Harada, Anja Kuhn, Hannah Preca Trapani and Sophie Hackenbruch. The synchro team thank Sport Malta for their support.  Definitely hard work and determination is reflected in this achievement which shows the huge potential our island has in this aquatic sport.
