Sutic and returning Zammit see San Giljan past Sirens

Exiles took their place in the Premier Division, although they start out with no bonus points, even after winning three out of their four group matches, only to lose out in goal difference,

They rode roughshod over M’scala. Who were still in the game until the second session, when their Hungarian, Judashz Szolt, was expelled without substitution. Exiles took the opportunity to net five times in this four minute period, but they did more, because they managed to convert all of their eleven man ups throughout the game.

M’scala will now play in the 1st Division, with a healthy cushion of five points.

Exiles’ Marthon Toth grabbed a nap hand of goals, whilst Joseph Kayes was on hand again for M’scala, with a poker of goals.

The Saints followed up on their win over Sliema, to have the better of a fighting Sirens side. San Giljan will start with a two point bonus, in the Premier Division, and Sirens will earn a single point.

Sirens had the better start, winning the opening session, but the Saints crawled back till the interval, to even out the score. San Giljan went ahead after the break, but Sirens returned, and midway through the last session they were back on level terms. The Saints then made sure of the result, with Sirens having their coach, Dorian Pisani, expelled once more, and they also lost Arpad Babay on fouls.

The match marked the return of San Giljan’s Matthew Zammit, after his long two year suspension, and he responded with a hat trick. Nikola Sutic netted six times for the Saints, four of them with penalty throws. Sirens’ two Hungarians, Babay and Csaba Kiss, scored three times each.
