Excelsior Hotel to support Tony Drago

Malta’s top snooker player Tony Drago has just signed an exclusive deal with Excelsior Hotel as one of his main sponsors for 2010. Addressing a Press Conference earlier today Drago reviewed his last 12 months and gladly admitted that during the past months he regained his confidence in his play and managed to re-enter again in the top 64 rankings of World Snooker thus confirming yet again his professional status.

The Maltese Tornado said “I passed through a very difficult time when I was out of the 64 and I had to play 4 to 5 rounds to enter a televised Snooker event, that was really tough for me”. The Valletta born cueist added “I had to take some quick decisions either let go Snooker and focus on Pool or else train harder. I chose the latter and thanks to my good friend Jimmy White I decided that I can do it again” he remarked.

Drago explained that he used to train for almost six hours everyday with White in his residence in London. Together they managed to get out of their respective dull moments.

When asked if the recent successes in Pool namely in 9 Ball and 10 Ball Drago said “I had some exceptional Pool tournaments in the last decade since I was asked to practice this game but to be honest my main love remains Snooker as it was the game that I first started playing when I was 16 years old” added a slim and smart Drago.

Norbert Grixti General Manager of Excelsior told the Press that he and the Hotel’s Management were extremely satisfied and honored to have reached this agreement with one of the Maltese sports ambassadors.
