Euro Camp 2012 – five days of activities to bring people together

As a sequel to Euro 2012 the stage is set in Poland for Eurocamp 2012, a five-day celebration which will include a football tournament and intercultural workshops intended to bring together 250 young people from disadvantaged social backgrounds from all the 53 UEFA nations.

The young participants will compete in a two-day fair play football tournament in Wroclaw as well as attend workshops on social issues such as fair play, social inclusion and cohesion, intercultural dialogue, youth leadership and healthy lifestyles. There will also be integration activities focusing on communication and networking.

Eurocamp 2012 in Poland will be a global gathering where  young people from all over Europe, including Malta, will meet between 28 August and 1 September in an atmosphere of friendship, who speak different languages and display different cultures.

Thirty-two young leaders from the top European NGOs in the field of development through football were selected to go to Stuttgart, Germany, for a preparatory meeting prior to the event in Poland which is being financed by the European Commission and UEFA.

In the tournament there will be one team from each of the 53 UEFA nations, four additional teams from Poland and another four from Ukraine, the UEFA 2012 host nations.
