Easy for Qormi against lowly-placed Rabat

The final result is a clear indication that Qormi dominated the proceedings throughout the whole game as Rabat offered a very feeble challange. Qormi stregthened second spot and they are  on 21 points from 9 games while Rabat are in penultimate placing having only 3 points also from 9 games.
The early pressure came from Qormi. Kristian Sammut served Jason Zahra with a cross in the area and Rabat keeper Dillon Dmech denied him with a diving save and later he denied Jurgen Sciriha with another diving save after Sammut served him with a square pass outside the area and moments later he saved a close-range shot by Gilfred Gatt after a square pass by Sciriha.
In the 13th minute Qormi drew first blood when Sammut was fouled outside the area and Zahra scored with a rising shot from 30 metres in the top left hand corner. 
The score became 2-0 in the 21st minute as Shawn Pace was fouled outside the area and Sciriha netted with a curling shot from the free kick.
In Rabat’s only action in the firdst period, Mark Asciak served Nathan Bezzina with a through ball outside the area and after he was fouled Keith Vassallo missed the upright from the free kick shot.
Three minutes before the break Qormi scored their third goal with a choral move between three players. Redeemer Gauci served Pace with a through ball in the area and after Dimech partly saved his shot Sammut headed in from the rebound.
Rabat created the first action after the restart as Asciak served Natahan Bezzina with a through ball in the area and Qormi keeper Liam Scicluna, who had an easy Sunday morning, foiled him with a timely sortie.
Qormi resumed with their pressing. Sciriha served Liam Gatt in the area and substitute keeper Marc Ciangura denied him with a diving save in two attempts and minutes later he did likewise on a shot by the same player after a cross from the left by Gauci.
The Yellow/Blacks kept trying for more.Pace dribbled past an opponent on the right flank and after serving Sammut with a cross Ciangura saved his effort from outside the area and later he denied Pace with a diving save after he was put through in the area by Liam Gatt.
The fourth goal was scored in the 62nd minute when Pace served Sciriha with a through ball in the area and he scored with a diagonal low shot.
Rabat scored a consolation goal in the last minute of normal time as Gianluca Bugeja served Luke Bartolo with a square pass in the area and scored with a low drive.
In the first minute of added time Qormi scored their fifth goal as Sciriha dribbled past an opponent and after entering the area he scored with a hard low drive.
