The Gozo Motorcross Association organised its second FunRace of the season, on Easter Sunday, 1st April at Ta’ Xħajma Motocross Track. Races started at 1pm.

Although it was a windy day, the event turned out to be a successful one with riders enjoying the experience of participating in reshuffled heats which took place in all of the three classes.

The 125cc class was interesting as riders fought it out in a friendly but challenging manner. David Dimech won this class followed by Steve Xuereb. Nataniel Camilleri came in third by just one point behind Xuereb.

In Class B Glen Vella did very well he came in first followed closely by Robert Spiteri. Matthew Zammit came in thrid place.

Teenagers who are interested in motocross showed up on their motorised bicycles. Wearing protective clothing, they had a chance to try out the track,  much to the amusement of all the spectators. Each of them enoyed every minute of it and they were given a small token for their participation in today’s event.

The president Frank Xuereb thanked the sponsors who supported today’s event - Ravenol Motoroil Malta and Sports Experience Trophies & Awards. Special thanks to Steve Xuereb who donated MX tires and accessories for the 125cc race, together with handcrafted trophies for some of the participants.

The association always encourages and welcomes new riders.

The semi-finals of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship ‘18 will take place on Sunday, 8 th April 2018.
