Diane Borg at the start of the 100m sprint at the London Olympics

Maltese youngster Diane Borg finished 3rd in the second 100m Heat at the London Olympic Games. The 21-year old finished the sprint with a time of 12 seconds, just 0.11 seconds adrift of her Personal Best time. This season she ran the 100m in 11.95 seconds.

The heat was won by Delphine Atanga of Cameroon in 11.71 seconds while Kaina Martinez of Belize ended second in 11.81. Both qualified to the next round of the competition.

Borg has qualified for the next round of the 100m race given that her time was amongst the top 10 in the preliminary round heats. Her next race in the London Olympic Stadium is scheduled for around 8:05 pm this evening.
