Glenn Bonello (Red jersey) join Balzan Youths on loan

Transfer deadline day was a busy one for the Maltese clubs. Balzan currently in fifth place in the Premier League signed Glenn Bonello on loan for the rest of the season from St. George’s. Bonello will also play on in the Futsal league after agreeing a move from Naxxar Motors to ZC Bidnija.

22 year old David Fenech joined Mqabba on loan from Balzan, the latter has been training with his new teammates for a few days.

Sliema Wanderers, one of the most active clubs in this transfer window signed Nikola Bogdanovic on a free transfer from Mosta. The 24 year old penned a six month deal with the club with a further option for next season. The Wanderers where also close to signing Valletta’s Alfred Effiong, but following Valletta’s failed effort to sign Lazio Striker Stephen Makina the deal fell through.

Mosta who have also been busy bolstering up their squad for the rest of the season signed winger Terence Vella on loan for the rest of the season. This will be Vella’s second stint with Mosta after turning out of the Blues’ during the 2009/10 season. Vella was previously on the books of Gudja United and Pieta Hotspurs.

First division outfit Vittoriosa Stars loaned in Leighton Grech for the remainder of the season from Birkirkara. The 22 year old was on loan with Hibernians last season.
