Goalkeeper David Cassar has joined Pieta Hotspurs from Tarxien Rainbows on loan for one year. He also rejected several offers from other clubs specifically to play for former mentor Noel Coleiro and Pieta Hotspurs.

The signing of Cassar is the three major signing by new coach Noel Coleiro following the deals of Orosco Anonam and Ricardo Costa.

David Cassar meets the specific requirement of new coach Noel Coleiro, who identified the priority of a new goalkeeper. The 26-year-old was always the club’s first option.

David Cassar a former nursery player for Pieta Hotspurs more than a decade ago was voted the Replay goalkeeper of the year three years ago.

The former Hibernians and St Patrick’s goalkeeper thinks that he has joined a club that is capable of challenge to a promotion place

‘I am here because I believe in Pieta Hotspurs,” the goalkeeper told sportinmalta.com

‘I think everything is OK for the future of Pieta Hotspurs. They have great team, promising players, and a great coach so everything is all right, I want to win a promotion with my team mates.

‘Now we have to prove that on the pitch and I am ready to give it my all for the club and for the fans.’
