MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo has denied he said that the National team players “have ruled the territory at Ta’Qali”. In a personal telephone conversation with me Mr. Darmanin Demajo said: “I categorically deny that I have made such a statement during the meeting with the players, this is absolutely not my style” The MFA boss was making reference to the story reported by this website that the National team players did not show up for their scheduled training session on Tuesday morning.

Players who spoke with this website had mentioned amongst other things that Darmanin Demajo had said “Hawnhekk ghamiltuh taghkom”. However Darmanin Demajo denied such comments made during the meeting he had with the players regarding the issue of the training allowances which are set to be cut by the MFA. The Association’s new proposals include an increase in appearance allowance set out in a new scheme called Line Up allowance.
