Daniel Tanti and Brenda Camilleri claim top handball awards

In the Malta Handball Association Awards night organized on the 10th June, the main awards were awarded to Daniel Tanti from Luxol and Brenda Camilleri from Aloysians Zmerc as both were voted as best players from the senior category. Trophies were handed to the teams winning the top awards this year from every category. In the men’s senior category, Aloysians Zmerc were awarded the Super Cup, and Knock out Trophies, Swieqi Gasan Momo Phoenix were awarded the MHA Cup, whilst Luxol were awarded the 1st Division League trophy.

In the women’s category La Salle Rivareno were awarded the 1st Division league and Knock out trophies. Aloysians Zmerc were awarded the Super Cup and MHA Cup awards. In the second division, Kavallieri RS2 won both men’s and women’s league. From the youth section, Aloysians won the U/15 boys league whilst Kavallieri won the U/17 girls league as well as the U/17 boys league.

La Salle’s Kami Dobracheva and Chris McClean from Kavallieri grabbed this year’s top scorer awards. Dobracheva also grabbed home the best foreign player award in the women’s category whilst Luxol’s Sergio Munox Del Olmo was voted as best male foreign player. This season’s fair play trophy was awarded to Aloysians Handball Club whereas the President’s award was given to Mr Anthony Aquilina and Mrs. Madelene Aquilina for their long service as MHA table officials, and for their valuable work in handball.
