As the Da Vinci Individual Doubles League is nearing its final stages, the winners of some of the divisions have already been decided.

Division 1

Salomone / Polidano edge closer to the title

Only one game was played this week from Division 1, that between title contenders S. Salomone / A. Polidano and H. Thomsen / O. Grech.

After last week’s surprise against the National Doubles Champions, S.Cali/S. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome their rivals and ended up losing 12-21 15-21.

With this win Salomone / Polidano moved closer to winning the title. A win againstCali/ Ferrante would be sufficient to grasp the honour.

With 2 games left to play E. Abela / G. Grech have already put their hands on the Division 2 title after beating title hopefuls K. O’Berg / F. Sadowski in a close match 21-19 21-16.

The latter tried hard to upset the more fanied opponents, but Abela / Cassar were too strong for them as the final score of 21-12 21-9 shows. With this win Abela / Cassar have taken a decisive lead and are only 2 points away from winning the title with 3 matches left.

The duo formed by Gilford / Fava also dropped another point as they drew their match against P. Gambin / M. A. Gambin, 21-15 19-21. The Gambin sisters also drew their other match against D. Galea / O. Fedoktina Galea, 21-16 19-21.
