Cremona F.illi Bari Reggio Emilia crowned European Champions.

Massimo Cremona won his second Champion League competition reserved for European Clubs  held in Napoli last weekend.


Cremona helped his team, F.illi Bari Reggio Emilia to another stunning success, the third title in their history.


In the final F.illi Bari Reggio Emilia beat Pisa 7-6 on golden goal after 1-1 draw to clinch the European title.


16 strong teams compete in the Champions League and 12 in the Europa League which was determined by a format


In the Group stages, F.lli Bari won all their 3 matches easily 4-0 again Belgium sides of SC Charleroi, SC Stembert and Austrian side of TFC Wiener Neustadt.


It was not so from the Quarter Finals onward as only goal difference made it through to beat English side Bristol 7-6 on goal difference after 1-1.


In the Semi Final against host side Eagles Napoli 6-5 on goal difference after 1-1 draw. The final against Pisa was a very tight match and it was the Golden Goal scored by Spanish Flores which in the end determined the winner for F.illi Bari side to be crowned European Champions.


Apart from Cremona F.illi Bari Reggio Emilia was made up of Saverio Bari (Capt), Marco Lamberti, Emanuele Licheri and Spanish Carlos Flores.


“It’s always great to be on the winning side. The competition was very close from the quarter finals onwards, as results shows on goal difference and golden goal gave us the honour. It is my 6th consecutive season with F.illi Bari Reggio Emilia. It’s my sport family. This win brings me more motivation to carry on playing”


Next competition will be the Coppa Italia on 16-17 November.
