Corito under Scrutiny!

“Billy Corito has proved his worth over the five fights he had as an EBF member. I always admired his potential and I am most confident he will keep growing even as a professional boxer”, remarked Spencer Brown, Chairman of the European Boxing Federation, when addressing the Press Conference held this afternoon at the Tigne Point Shopping Mall.

Furthermore Mr. Brown declared that with his constant positive results Corito has put himself in the limelight and is being observed. In fact present in Malta to attend Friday’s Night of Boxing are well known personalities from the boxing scene like Barry Smith, top London trainer, Shea Neary,former world champion, Scott Lawton, former British champion, Lee Murtagh, Irish Champion, and Spencer Brown, Chairman of the EBF and Steve Maxwell, world renowned trainer.

There has been a forced change to the fighters to feature in Friday’s show. Marko Rupcic, known as the “TNT” from Croatia will be fighting Billy Corito “The Hitman” instead of Radenko Kovac who had to withdraw two days ago due to an unfortunate injure. During the Press Conference the weigh-in of the boxers to feature on Friday’s Show was held. The Referee for the Pro Fights shall be Charlie Cardona, Chairman of the Malta Boxing Commission.

This Malta Night of Boxing, organized by the European Boxing Federation and local promoter Paul Borg, will be held at Monte Cristo Estates in Hal Farrug tomorrow Friday 12th July with the first fight scheduled for 8.30 p.m. – Doors open at 7.30 p.m. Tickets selling at €25 (Seated) and €15 (Standing) are available from the London Butcher, Sir Frederick C. Ponsonby Street Gzira and from TeamSport, Triq Dun Karm, B’Kara by Pass, Iklin.
