Christmas Football Festival by Hamrun FC YN

For the thirteenth consecutive year, Hamrun Spartans FC Youth Nursery is once again organising the Christmas Football Festival at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. This year’s Football Festival will be held on Wednesday 8th and on Sunday 12th December 2009. Twenty eight teams with over 300 boys and girls from four categories (2003, 2001, 1999 and 1996 girls) will be participating.

This is the second Tournament/Festival organised by the Hamrun Spartans Youth Nursery in a series of four during the current season. The Festival is now a fixed appointment in the largest nurseries’ calender of events and it was fully registered within a couple of weeks from the opening of applications.

The nurseries taking part in this year’s Football Festival are: Birkirkara, Floriana, Lija/Iklin, Melita, Paola H., San Gwann, St Andrews, St Patrick, Sliema W., Tarxien, Valletta, Zebbug and Hamrun Spartans. Since no winners will be declared in these categories, the organisers insist that children should be given more chance to have fun and in friendly atmosphere between the participating teams based on respect. This can be achieved only with the contribution of everyone involved, the coaches, club officials and the respective parents with the right support. Firetech Limited, which specialises in fire, safety and security services, will be sponsoring the Christmas Football Festival for the seventh consecutive year. The company operates from its premises at Mill Street Qormi and offers its services both locally and in Libya.

The Hamrun Spartans FC Youth Nursery wish to publicly thank Firetech Limited, the Hamrun Spartans FC Executive Committee, Hamrun Sport Complex plc, The Amateur, Youth & Grassroots Committee, the Youth FA and participating nurseries.
