Chetcuti and Xuereb in memorable World Championships

WILLIAM CHETCUTI 5th PLACE IN ISSF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 BELGRADE
NATHAN LEE XUEREB 4th IN THE JUNIORS EVENT.

Double Trap Maltese shooters William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb had a memorable day when they were competing among the best shooters in The ISSF World Championships 2011 Belgrade.

William Chetcuti started with 48/50 in his first round followed by a perfect straight of 50/50. In his third round he managed 48/50 for a total of 146/150. He qualified for the barrage finals among the top six where he managed 47/50 for a total of 193/200 , only one clay away from the winner and together with Eller Walton of USA and Fokeev Vitaly of Russia.

Leow Andreas from Germany won Silver with 146+48=194+shoot off +3
Eller Walton from USA won Bronze with 145+48=193+s/off+4
Fokeev Vitaly from Russia placed fourth with 146+47=193+s/off+3
Chetcuti William from Malta placed fifth with 146+47=193+s/off+1
Hu Bin from China placed sixth with 147+43=190

Junior Nathan Lee Xuereb had a perfect debut in This ISSF World Championships 2011 where he managed 48/50 in his first round, 46/50 in his second and a superb 49/50 in his third round for a total of 143/150 to finish fourth place in The Juniors Event.

Noria Asher from India placed 3rd with 144/150
Xuereb Nathan Lee from malta placed 4th with 143/150
Haldem derek from USA placed 5th with 141/150
Mittal Ankur from India placed 6th with 140/150

Both Maltese shooters were assisted by MSSF coach Jimmy Bugeja. The Malta Shooting Sport Federation was very pleased with this positive results from it’s both Double Trap shooters in such a prestigious ISSF World Championships where over 600 shooters from 76 Nations are taking part.
