Charlie Calleja wins Franwin Trap Trophy

Charlie Calleja from Gozo was the overall winner of The Franwin Trap Trophy organized today by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation at Bidnija. This competition was on 50 clays trap with the best six shooters to qualify for a barrage finals of another 25 clays.

Charlie Calleja placed 1st with 46+22=68

Nicky Carabott placed 2nd with 42+22=65

Frankie Scorfna placed 3rd with 45+18=63

Warren Sammut placed 4th with 44+18=62

Joe Cutajar placed 5th with 42+19=61

George Mifsud placed 6th with 43+12=55

Class A 1st Charlie Calleja 46/50, 2nd Nicky Carabott 43/50. 3rd Nazzareno Attard 43/50.

Class B 1st Frankie Scorfna 45/50. 2nd Warren Sammut 44/50. 3rd George Mifsud 43/50.

Class C 1st Joe Zammit 37/50. 2nd Micheal Galea 35/50. 3rd Jean Pierre Borg 34/50.

On Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th MSSF trap shooters Jason John Aquilina, George Cassar and Jeffery Pisani will be taking part in The ISSF World Championships 2011 Belgrade. They are being assisted by MSSF President Savior Portelli.

On Saturday 10th September William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb will be shooting in The Double Trap event of The ISSF World Championships 2011 Belgrade. They will be assisted by MSSF coach Jimmy Bugeja. While Clive Farrugia will be shooting in The Skeet event on Mon 12th and Tuesday 13th September. He will be assisted by his coach Luduvico Di Maio.

The Malta Shooting Sport Federation will be organizing The Dritta Team Event on Thursday 8th September. Teams from all localities are encouraged to take part in this annual event.
