Valletta defeated arch rivals Floriana 1-0 in the weekend’s big match at the National Stadium

William Barbosa scored the all important goal on the half an hour mark. The Citizens kept the pace with leaders Hibernians as now have twenty one points from eight games.

Floriana, on the other hand, now fall five points behind the Lillywhites, staying three ahead of fourth placed Birkirkara and Qormi.

Balzan Youths register first win on the field

Final Score: Balzan Y 2-1 Tarxien R

In today’s first match Balzan Youths registered their second win of the season and the first on the field as they defeated strugglers Tarxien Rainbows.

Balzan Youths now have eight points from eight games and Tarxien Rainbows stayed bottom place with Mosta with just four points from eight games.

Balzan defender Nikola Tasic gave the perfect lead on the stroll of the first half as he headed home two minutes in the added time.

Balzan Youths striker Kris Bright doubled the score as he beaten helpless David Cassar on the 56th minute. Six minutes later Nigerian naturalised Maltese internatiol veteran Orosco Anonam reduced the gap.
