Champions held, Mosta move second

League leaders Valletta suffered another setback as they was held by resilient  Balzan Fc in Friday’s second match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Valletta now have 24 points and are five points clear of Mosta. On the other side Balzan have 12 points from 10 matches and are lying in 8th place.

Valletta opened the scored on the 11th minute as Denni Dos Santos headed a Shaun Bajada cross.

Balzan Youths responded quickly as Brazilian Pedro Dos Santos Calcado levelled with a low shot past helpless Manuel Bartolo.

Mosta move second

Mosta moved  to second place after a superb second half display as they hammered the Amateurs 5-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Mosta now have 19 points from 10 matches.

A brace by Obinna Obiefule and other by Daniel Bogdanovic as Burkino Faso midfielder Ousseni Zongo scored the other goal to sealed their sixth league win of the season.
