Melita coach Martin Gregory will tempt his old friend Carmel Busutill with a ready made coaching job to entice him to the Amateurs this season.

The former Malta assistant coach is out if contract after he was told by Birkirkara Youth Nursery that his contract will not be renewed and Gregory is ready to offer him the chance to assist him during the league campaign.

The pair worked together at Sliema 16 years ago as both were player coaches with the Blues and Gregory is keen to relink the relationship.

Melita President, Paul Zammit will offer the 46-year-old a chance to open again a soccer school in collaboration with Melita youth nursery, a close source told sportinmalta.com.

It is understood Busutill will only consider a move to Melita if the Malta Football Association reverses the revocation of his coaching licence.

Melita Football Club are in advanced talks to sign the out of contract Malcolm Licari, The Times reported.

The veteran is in need of a fresh start after a disappointing six months with Floriana. The 33 year old was also the target of Hamrun Spartans. The former Marsaxlokk, Pieta Hotspurs striker is just two goals away from reaching the century goal target in the Maltese League.

Portuguese defender Rudhi Alinho has rejoined Melita after stints with Mosta and Gzira United, and will join Sierre Camacho as confirmed club foreigners.
