Carmel Busutill is no longer Melita assistant coach

Former Malta assistant coach Carmel Busutill is no longer the Melita assistant coach after a meeting with the Amateurs committee. He will still help new Coach Francisco ‘Patxi’ Salinas Fernández at training sessions duty, but will focus more on the clubs youth nursery development.

The Spanish coach Francisco ‘Patxi’ Salinas Fernández will be also bring his number two during the week to assist him during the matches. Before accepted the Melita offer, the 48 year old was currently in Malta to study the English language after he find life difficult coaching in Greece during the close season.

A club spokesman confirmed with sportinmalta.com that former Martin Gregory was twice tender his resignation before accepted to part ways last Sunday. Gregory led Melita to the Division One title and promotion to the Premier League last season but the Amateurs have found the going tough in the top flight so far.

Marsaxlokk midfielder Andre Grabowski could be again on the move. The 24 year old currently on the books of first division side Marsaxlokk is knee to continue his career with a Premier League club and his in talks with two particular clubs.

Swedish born Grabowski was brought in Malta by Floriana.

Valletta midfielder Roderick Briffa and Marsaxlokk defender Clive Brincat, currently on loan with Rabat Ajax are the only two players till today to had written to the Malta Football Association to be able to speak with other clubs at the end of the season if never reach an agreement with their current employers.

Any player who his contract expires at the end of this season should can write a letter to both his club and MFA respectively not later than the 8th of December informing them that he will be making use of the right of transfer.
