Cafe’ Del Mar Official Sponsor of Floriana Basketball Club

Floriana Basketball Club announced that CAFÉ DEL MAR will extended its collaboration for the second consecutive year. The team will be named as Floriana Café del Mar.

During a press conference held at the Café del Mar premises in Bugibba, club President Ian Mercieca said that this sponsorship helped the club in no small way to have the best team possible. Café del Mar established itself as the place to be. Forming part of the Malta National Aquarium complex, Café del Mar is the ideal place to relax, have a swim and enjoy a drink. Café del Mar is hugely famous around the world for its chill-out compilation albums which have been released annually since 1994, pioneering the chill-out genre. Special guest DJs entertain the patrons whilst these enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Ian Mercieca presented the new club signings. Chad Patus who played in Malta for the past two years was introduced as Floriana Café del Mar’s new foreigner. He brings height, strength and a good shot, along with loads of experience to the team, giving coach Mario Tabone different options, both in attack and in defense.

Another signing was Anton Axiaq, considered by many one of the best talents of his generation, Anton will not only strengthen the squad for the upcoming season, but is also an essential player for the long-term future of the club. Anton, is also part of the Maltese National team.

Third signing was Abraham Portelli. Abraham, he played for various clubs and has won several honours. His leadership and passion for the game will be an asset to the team.

Nikola Andrejevic will be leading the newly formed Floriana Under-23 team as well as being an integral part of the senior squad. Hi youth and passion for the game will be beneficial to the team.

Ian Mercieca on behalf of the club thanked Charles Zammit Moore for his hard work in the negotiations and Mr. Saviour Ellul of Café del Mar for his support and making this collaboration possible for the benefit of both parties.

Mr. Ellul wished good luck to the Floriana team for the coming season which will start on the 19th of September 2015.

Floriana Basketball Club ħabbru li CAFÉ DEL MAR ser jestendi l-isponsor tiegħu għat-tieni sena konsekuttiva. It-tim ser jissejjaħ bħala Floriana Café del Mar.

Waqt konferenza stampa li saret fil-bini Café del Mar f’Buġibba, l-President tal-Club Ian Mercieca qal li dan il-ftehim għen lill-klabb b’ mod kbir sabiex il-club ikollu l-aħjar tim possibli. Café del Mar stabbilixxa ruħu bħala l-post attraenti. L-istabbiliment jifforma parti mill-kumpless tal-Malta National Aquarium. Café del Mar huwa l-post ideali biex wieħed jirrilassa, jgħum u jgawdi xarba tajba f’atmosfera unika.

Il-President semma l-plejers li l-klabb irreġistra din is-sena jiġifieri li Chad Patus li fl-aħħar żewġ staġuni lagħab Malta u ma għandu bżonn l-ebda introduzzjoni.

Player ieħor kien Anton Axiaq, meqjus minn ħafna bħala wieħed mill-aħjar talenti tal-ġenerazzjoni tiegħu.Anton mhux biss se jsaħħaħ l-iskwadra għall-istaġun li jmiss, iżda huwa wkoll ser ikun protagonist essenzjali għall-futur tal-klabb. Anton, huwa ukoll parti mit-tim Nazzjonali Malti.

It-tielet player huwa Abraham Portelli. Abraham lagħab ma’ diversi clubs u rebaħ diversi unuri ma’ timijiet differenti. Żgur li ser ikun t’ għajnuna kbira lit-tim bl-esperjenza li għandu.

Ellul ta’ Café del Mar għall-appoġġ tiegħu u l-kollaborazzjoni kollha possibbli għall-benefiċċju taż-żewġ partijiet. Is-Sur Ellul awgura sena tajba lill-iskwadra tal-Floriana għall-istaġun li ġej li se jibda fid-19 ta’ Settembru 2015.
