The Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza- Alfred Effiong swap deal collapsed after the Nigerian failed to reach a financial agreement with the Blues. Thirty year old Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza is now a top target for Birkirkara, but the Wanderers wants Trevor Cillia as part of the deal. Sliema Wanderers sign Emiliano Lattes on a six month contract with an option for a further year.

Birkirkara sign Dutch defender David Nooitmeer till the end of season after he impressed coach Paul Zammit in a recent trial. Defender Rodrigo Pereira could be again released by the Stripes.

Qormi signed Hibernians youngster Triston Caruana on a six month loan deal as the twenty year old failed to gain a starting berth in Mark Miller’s formation. Hibernians signed Brazilian Jackson Lima on a free transfer after his contract with Sliema was terminated by mutual agreement.

Thirty seven year old goalkeeper Rueben Debono has come out of retirement after agreeing to play for second division side Zebbug Rangers until the end of the season.

The former Naxxar shot stopper retired two years ago after Marsaxlokk won the First Division. Debono has been goalkeeper coach at Valletta.
