Last Saturday in the opener of EURO 2020 Qualifiers, Malta assured the well deserved three points against Faroe Islands, winning 2-1 in front of a massive attendance at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.

Coach Ray Farrugia introduced young elements like Matthew Guillaumier, Juan Corbolan, Joseph M’bong and Kyrian Nwoko who played and integrated very well with the rest of the team. Nwoko had his first international goal, Andrei Agius sacrificied himself losing the next big match against Spain, Henry Bonello saved the penalty magnificently while determined Steve Borg scored Malta’s second goal from the penalty spot.

Playing with 10 men for more than 30 minutes was no joke but the players’ attitude gave the merited result leading them with high spirits for tomorrow’s big match against Spain.
