Brian Galea wins the Luigi Franchi Trophy on Sunday 29 May 2016.

This Event was the first of four selection shoots for the Fazz’a Italian Cup 2016 Trap to be held between the 25 and 28 August 2016, where the top two ranking shooters from classes A, B and C will compete in Italy after picking their best three results out of the four shoots.

This shoot was on 125 targets and it commenced on Saturday with the participants shooting on 75 clays and it continued on Sunday on another 50 targets

The top six overall winners of the Luigi Franchi Trophy were;

In first place was Brian Galea with 114/125 in qualifications, 13/15 in the semi-final and 14/15 in the Gold Medal Match.

Paul Formosa placed second with 112/125 in qualifications, 12/15 in the semi-final and 13/15 in the Gold Medal Match.

Pierre Montebello took his first ever podium place as he placed third overall with 111/125 in the qualification rounds, 11/15 in the semi-final and 13/15 in the Bronze Medal Match.

Stephen Vella finished in fourth place with 108/125 in the qualification rounds, 11/15 in the semi-final and 9/15 in the Bronze Medal Match.

Alvin Vella and George Mifsud finished in fifth and sixth place respectively on count back rule, when they both managed 10/15 in the semi-final with Vella hitting 113/125 and Mifsud managed a satisfactory result of 117/125 in the qualifications.

The Class results from Sunday’s 50 targets were;
