The game which was also the first game of the season for both coaches (Muscat for Vittoriosa and Miller for Hibs) proved to be fruitful for some players as some really caught the eye namely youngsters like Dylon Sammut, Brandon Muscat and Ayrton Azzopardi for Hibs and Brazilian Jorge Silva Santos, and Italian Giuseppe Scattura for Vittoriosa.

In the second game Sheffield United saw the best out of Muscat’s side with a narrow 1-0 win with a Richard Cresswell header into the net on the 17th minute mark. Bogdanovic and Nick Montgomery distinguished themselves for the Yorkshire based side. Vittoriosa here utilized the services of some experienced players like Ian Ciantar and Jeffrey Chetcuti but Blackwell’s side was too strong for them to handle.

The third and final match was to determine the winner of the JPL Cisk Lager 2010 Cup. Hibs in this game opted to play with their best possible formation with Mario Muscat, Ryan Camilleri, Ben Camilleri and Triston Caruana who along with an array of new players on trial tried to keep up the pace with the visitors. Sheffield won this game 2-0 with goals by Daniel Bogdanovic from a penalty kick only 8minutes from kick off (conceded by Edafe Uzeh who featured again for the peacocks).  Later Jordan Chapell made sure of the win and the three points when he hit home with a fine shot from just inside the penalty area on the half hour mark.
