Final Score: Birkirkara 2-1 Marsaxlokk

Birkirkara returned to winning ways after three matches by beating strugglers Marsaxlokk 2-1 at the Corradino Stadium. There was a rare appearance by former Club President Victor Zammit and, until now, former coach Paul Zammit who were both in the VIP area.

Birkirkara opened the score thanks to Rodrigo Pereira’s free kick in the first half as Avila Moises scored the second in the second half. Just minutes before the end of the match Dylan Kokavessis scored a consolidation goal for the Southsiders.

Birkirkara now have ten points from six games as Marsaxlokk stayed near the bottom of the standings with just four points from six games.

Birkirkara were led by caretaker coach Peter Pullcino who started with an offensive 4-4-2 formation as Spanish striker Avila and Haruna formed the forward line.

Marsaxlokk coach Winston Muscat started with an initial 4-5-1 formation as Obinna started as a lone striker.
