The Pieta youngsters were the better outfit during the game and fully deserved the verdict as they created more occasions than Hamrun. Following this game Pieta are in third position on 14 points from 7 games while Hamrun have only 3 points from the same number of games and lie third from bottom of the table.
 
The game was only three minutes old when Pieta opened the score as Ayrton Mizzi served Alex zammit with a square pass and he scored from the edge of the area, two minutes later Hanrun were denied by the wood work as the ball thumped the bar from a free kick shot by Jake Grech with Pieta keeper Matthew Grech beaten.
 
Pieta then created two actions in a row. After the ball was partly cleared from a free kick by Mizzi it came in the path of Jordie Delia and Hamrun keeper Matthew Taliana turned the ball to a corner from his shot and Cliove Gauci served Luke Tabone in the area and Taliana foiled him by diving at his feet and smothered the ball.
 
The score became 2-0 in the 24th minute when Mizzi served Gauci in the area and he scored with a lobbed ball, and a minute later Pieta were awarded a penalty when Gauci was tripped in the area, Rodney Grixti took charge of tthe spot kick but Taliana managed to partly save his grounder with his left foot and the ball was cleared to safety.
 
In the 33rd minute Pieta came close a third goal when Tabone served Gauci with a croos in the area from the right flank and the ball was cleared on the line from his shot.
 
In the first minute of added time Pieta scored a third goal following a one-two between Gauci and Dunstan Vella finished with the latter scoring from inside the area. 
 
Hamrun created the first action after the restart Waddle Formosa served Tensior Guzman with a through ball who then served Luke Gakea in the area and after Grech partly saved his shot the ball was cleared by a defender.
 
The score became 4-0 in the 40th minute. Mizzi served Tabone with a through ball who entered the area after beating a defender and scored with a low shot.
 
 Pieta resumed with their pressing and mounted two actions in a row. Mizzi served Tabone on the right flank who then crossed the ball in the area but found no takers and Delia served Gauci with a through ball but he missed the upright from inside the area.
 
Two minutes before the end Hamrun scored a consolation goal when substitute Seymour Micallef served Samuel Lucas in the area and he scored with a low shot.
