It was difficult to repeat the success of 2009, since on first impression all the participating teams have improved considerably. However the BOV football team managed to place first in the group after beating KPMG 5-1, APS 1-0, NBG 6 – 1 and conceding a draw to Fimbank (1-1). In the semi finals the Bank of Valletta team had to play against Lombard bank. In a superb match, BOV emerged winners with an astonishing 6-2 result. In the other semi-final APS had beaten favourites BANIF 4-2.

The final was once again played against APS where BOV won with a 3-1 score.

After the match captain Stephen Mizzi was presented with the Banca Cup in the presence of all the participating players and committee officials.

The BOV team was composed of Stephen Mizzi, Chris Penza, Joseph Zammit, Antoine Briffa, Andreas Galea, Jesmond Pace, Sandro Bonnici and Hani Arebi . Charles Borg Sant, Joe Micallef, Joe Baldacchino and Mario Falzon were all assisting our team.

Whilst congratulating BOV for being deserved winners, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the scores stated above are incorrect. BOV and NBG where playing in seperate groups thus BOV never won 6-1 against NBG.
